2021 Season Announcement

Hello Sebastopol Little League families and volunteers!

Hope all is well with you during these unsettling and challenging times. In the midst of this uncertainty, we are planning ahead for a hopeful return of Little league to our community this Spring.

Outdoor activities are allowed and encouraged even with Sonoma County's current stay at home order. As a sport with minimal direct person to person contact, baseball can be a great way for children to interact safely with their peers, stretch their legs and have some fun! It is one of the few team-based youth sports allowed to fully operate during California’s “Red Tier” categorization of virus prevalence. Although Sonoma County has remained in the “Purple Tier,” Sonoma County health ordinances allow for restricted baseball activities. This Fall, we were able to run a pilot series of Juniors level practices with Covid-19 mitigation practices in place with great success. Please see the following link for more information:

We are hoping and planning to have a full season this Spring, including games and practices. It is highly likely that we will still need Covid-19 mitigation practices in place. Depending on the course of the pandemic, we may not be able to hold games, in which case we will run practices and other baseball activities.  Please see the Sebastopol Little League website for more details.

Before the regular season begins, we are also looking at holding a series of informal practice activities after the first of the year to get our players outside for some baseball. We’ll be offering this opportunity free of charge. However, during registration for these practices, there will be an option to contribute to Sebastopol Little League to help replenish the approximately $6,000 loss for critical infrastructure and operating costs due the pandemic. Details to follow.

Please know that our community's safety is our top priority, so all appropriate protocols and systems will be in place for whichever activities we are able to provide. Of course, all final decisions on timing and season structure will be based on current public health guidelines.

Thank you for your past and continued support of positive and healthy youth activities in our community through the best team sport around! Please sign your player up for some baseball!

All the Best,
